2017 Spring Conference
Ministering to Those Who Struggle was the theme of our conference this year with Matthew 26:41 as our Scripture verse to guide us, "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak".

2016 fall WELS Gathering of Nursing Professionals
October 22nd, 2016 nurses and caregivers gathered at St. Peter's Lutheran in Fond du Lac, WI!
Our theme: "Serving the Lord with Gladness".
Verse to guide the day: Romans 12:6-8 “(So whether a student nurse, a practicing RN or retired,) we have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift  is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
Dr. Jennifer Lundgren of Christian Family Solutions spoke on "Caregiving: Struggles and Strategies for Coping".
Staff Minister Bill Truebenback of TLHA spoke on "Using Your Unique Gifts as You Volunteer!"

2015 Spring Conference
On March 20th-21st the 2015 WELSNA Spring Conference met at the beautiful WELS Center for Mission & Ministry in Waukesha, WI. Our theme was The Heart of Healthcare & the Heart of the WELS with John 13:34 as our scripture to guide our day, "Love one another - as I have loved you." We had 65 plus people in attendance with the WLC senior student nurses bringing their poster presentations to show us during the lunch hour. We elected Kathy Lee as our new treasurer. Thanks to Pat Schlosser for her faithful service as past treasurer! There were multiple WELS ministry displays that had information relevant to our parish nurses and nurses alike! The videos of the keynotes and breakouts are available on the homepage. Click on the links to access them and enjoy!

2014 WELSNA Spring Conference
On March 29th, 2014 the third WELSNA Spring Conference took place on the beautiful Wisconsin Lutheran College campus. Over 60 nurses and students gathered as we toured the new nursing lab, viewed student poster presentations, heard great speakers who brought spirtual encouragement and professional enrichment and had fun networking with each other! We elected a new Council Coordinator-Elect (Wendy Crary) and a new Council Secretary (Anne Mackey). WELSNA also announced a new WELSNA/WLC Nursing Scholarship! It was a great day and we look forward to what the Lord has in store for the WELS Nurses Association!

Making a Difference

Maria Reese RN Commissioned into CAMM

On July 15th, Maria Reese was commissioned at St John’s (Red Wing, MN) as the next Clinic Administrator for the Lutheran Mobile Clinic in Malawi, Africa.  Kari Belter, who is the current clinic administrator and will be the nurse in charge was able to attend (she is a close friend of Maria).  Kari is the shorter person in the photo.  Megan Behl who will be the nurse in charge in 2013 is also in the photo as she drove from Rochester to attend the commissioning.  It is unusual to have 3 CAMM staff in one location for a service!  One current (Kari) and two very soon (Maria and Megan).  Also in the photo are Linda Liesener – stateside communicator, Carole Hart (next to Maria) - committee secretary and Beth Evans - committee nurse coordinator. Please pray for Maria as she travels to Africa to work in the harvest fields of Malawi.
