Want to Get Involved?
Christians Forward Southeast Asia is seeking volunteers for trips in late summer and fall 2018
  • CFSA has two remaining ministry trips this year and we want you! We need volunteers for both trips and you are the ones who can help. CFSA depends on volunteers to complete its work, and we move forward because of you! Please pray about joining either of these teams.
Following are pertinent details for each trip. If you have any further questions and/or if you know of someone who would be interested in joining one of these teams, please contact me. Thank you!!
    Dates: August 22 – September 05
Fee: $2500 due at time of booking flights, June 22.
-Flights depart from major airports i.e., O’Hare, Dulles, Phoenix, Denver, San Francisco, etc.
-Fee includes r/t airfare, ground transportation, lodging and at least one meal/day.
Duties: We will be doing painting, furniture repair and washing, window repair, floor repair, etc., We will be working in the same school where we worked 2 years ago, renovating their library. The room we’ll repair this year is their ‘Sala Festiva’, a 400 square meter space where they hold special events.
-Volunteers must have flexible attitudes and be willing to work according to Romanian time, with Romanian tools and by Romanian standards. Volunteers must have hearts full of love for the Lord and a willingness to show that love in words, actions and through friendship evangelism.
-Volunteers must get along with others, be able to lodge in CFSA’s ‘famous’ -5 star accommodations, be physically fit, and be able to ‘plan not to plan’…because things/schedules change all the time!...
Location: The trip will take place in Oradea, Romania.  Flights land in Budapest, Hungary and from there we travel four hours to Oradea. We will stay very near the pedestrian walkway in Oradea where there will be ample restaurants/shops/activities during off-hours time.
Number of Volunteers Needed: CFSA needs a minimum of three volunteers, but we are willing to take more if there is a desire to help!

    Dates: October 17 – 31
Fee: $2500 due at time of booking, August 17
    -See above for same information.
Duties: CFSA needs two assistants for this medical ministry trip. Assistants will help medical team by keeping patient notes, gathering OTC meds required for the patient, filling gift bags for patients, assisting the Executive Director with Kinder Jam, CFSA’s ESL program, joining in soup kitchen work, Sunday School activities, etc.,
-Volunteers must have flexible attitudes and be willing to work according to Mexican time and Mexican standards. Volunteers must have hearts full of love for the Lord and a willingness to show that love in words, actions, and through both friendship evangelism and VBS-type evangelism.
-Volunteers must get along with others, be able to lodge in CFSA’s ‘famous’ -5-star accommodations, be physically fit, and be able to ‘plan not to plan’. Things will be much different with this medical mission than with our others.
Location: The trip will take place in Mahahual, Mexico and we will be working with Costa Maya Ministries. As of this writing, our lodging is yet to be determined. There are ample restaurants, shops and the beautiful Caribbean Sea available to us when ministry work is finished for the day.
Number of Volunteers Needed: CFSA needs only two volunteers for this team. We will start a waiting list should there be greater interest!

Both teams are filled on a first come, first served basis so it is in your best interest to contact me right away.
I love the work that I have been given to do. Why? It is wonderful! It has its ups and downs certainly, but it is always, always, always a blessing! The question I have for you is not, “Can you do this?” The question is, “Will you do it?”

We have been created to spread the Word of God, He has given us all that we need to spread it, and this work gives us opportunity to spread it!

Join CFSA and you will be forever changed because of and charged for… spreading the Word!

I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your prayers, compassion and support!

    Lutheran Volunteer Connect
  • Lutheran Volunteer Connect (LVC) helps churches, schools, and organizations connect with Christians who are ready to live their faith. It’s a win-win-win scenario that we’re really excited about (and are humbled to be part of it).  Click here to see the LVC website.

Stateside CAMM Committee needs Nurse Coordinator!
  • Have an interest in serving in a Mission field but not able to leave your job and family?  The Central Africa Medical Mission (CAMM) has a vacancy on our stateside committee for an RN as a nurse coordinator.  Our committee consists of a chairwoman, secretary, treasurer, nurse coordinator, nurse advisor, contact woman coordinator, public relations, medical advisor and pastoral advisor.  All positions are volunteers.  Experience with CAMM is not necessary.  The committee meets bimonthly (odd numbered months) usually 9-3 at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School.  Attendance at all meetings is not mandatory but strongly encouraged.  For more information regarding this position, please contact Linda Liesener (cammcontact@charter.net)
WELSNA Nurses needed to represent WELSNA at local district conventions or WELS events! (posted 11/25)
  • In an effort to spread the word about the new WELS Nurses Association, a table display and educational materials have been developed about WELSNA and WELS Parish Nursing so that nurses may go to WELS events or the Synod/district Conventions. Members of the WELSNA and Parish Nurse Councils have manned tables at these events and always enjoy meeting other people/Pastors. But travel costs prevent us from reaching out to opportunities around the country. Might you enjoy attending a WELS event in your area and representing WELSNA? We could easily mail you the display and materials, facilitating your attendance at these opportunities! Contact Sue at welsnurses@wels.net with your ideas or questions. Let's talk!
Nurses Needed for Quarterly WELSNA Newsletter
  • We are looking for 2-3 nurses who might want to serve on an editorial staff of a quarterly WELSNA newsletter. Because of modern technology, distance from Synod offices is no longer a concern for the team. The template for the newsletter is now developed and Synod staff will handle each issue’s lay out work. The editor and perhaps one or two other helpers would plan the topics for each issue and then search for knowledgeable and capable authors. Or if someone has a story to tell but doesn’t want to write the article, perhaps the team might conduct a phone or email interview and write the article as happens often in the Forward in Christ. This is your chance to put those organizational and writing skills to work! More questions? Contact Sue at welsnurses@wels.net.
    Prayer Team
  • We are looking for a team of nurses who are willing keep people or situations in their prayers at home. Debbie will manage the prayer list and keep the team informed by email. This might be a perfect way for our retired RN's or RN's from afar to get involved with WELSNA! Questions??? Or want to join the team??? Email Debbie at debbie.miller4@comcast.net.
