WELS Nurses Association
The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod Nurses Association (WELSNA)
aims to educate and support nurses, encouraging them to serve others with Christ-centered care. It is affiliated with the Commission on Special Ministries of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS.) At this time our pastoral advisor is Reverend James Behringer.
Any active WELS or Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) member in the nursing profession may become a member of the WELS Nurses Association. The nursing profession is defined as RN or LPN. Student Nurses are also welcome to become members. At this time there are no membership dues. A nurse simply completes the online membership form found on this website.
Spotlight on the New postings:
The WELSNA Guidelines were updated in 2017.
The Guidelines include purpose, membership, officer roles, elections, meetings, and committees.
The 2018 Spring Conference and Meeting is now behind us
The PowerPoint slides from the presentations will be posted when they become available under "Past Conferences". Two major things happened at the annual meeting.
- First, a motion was approved to suspend for one year Article IV Section 2E of the Guidelines (Any officer having served two (2) consecutive terms shall not be nominated to any office for a period of four (4) years.) This will be readdressed at the next annual meeting. This motion allowed officers completing two consecutive terms to run for office in 2018.
- Second, four individuals were elected to office. Anne Mackey - Coordinator, Mariam Henning - Coordinator-elect, Catharine Soule - Secretary, and Allison Nass - Communications Coordinator.
Chrystyan Woyak, class of 2019, is the recent recipient of the WELSNA Annual Nursing Scholarship. Read more here.
